Robin Smith has spent two decades helping organizations — from international nonprofits to growing businesses — make stronger financial decisions. Today she leads two complementary practices: Zen Consulting and Evolve Leadership Coaching.
Robin began her financial career as Finance Director for the American Red Cross, leading systems and reporting for one of the country's most trusted humanitarian organizations. While completing her Master's in Accounting at UNC-Chapel Hill, she built a bookkeeping practice from scratch — an early sign of the entrepreneurial instincts that would later define her firm.
Her work then took her abroad. Robin served as Executive Director for a nonprofit in Guatemala and later as Country Director in Nicaragua, where she led teams, managed cross-border finances, and learned firsthand how strong financial leadership shapes a mission's ability to deliver.
Back home, she founded Zen Consulting to bring fractional CFO leadership to growing companies, and later launched Evolve Leadership Coaching to serve nonprofit executives navigating the unique complexities of mission-driven finance. Both practices share one belief: clear finances create confident leaders.
